I was homeless, wearing thin the kindness of my friends, drifting around, just trying to get by until the next tour with my band at the time. I’d go from sleeping on their couches and in their cars, to playing shows around Europe and Asia. In a matter of 48 hours I’d go from penthouse parties overlooking London to sleeping on the hard floors of art galleries in downtown Los Angeles. It was a manic time, full of chaos and hard decisions. Each day kicked my feet out from under me. Each day I’d fall, harder than the day before but each day, I let those cycles of instability serve as a reminder of the beautiful impermanence of our existence.
